Update

I’ve realized that at least right now, I don’t have time to post 3 times a week (not that I have been doing it anyway).  I will still post as often as I can (probably 2-3 times a week still), but not on a regular schedule.  The easiest way to keep up with the posts is to subscribe to my blog.

I’ll try and get up my Batman Begins post today and my Dark Knight post sometime soon, even though everyone in the world has already seen it and reviewed it.  Thanks for reading.

Update/mini-review of Get Smart

Okay, so I didn’t end up seeing Wanted, so that’s why I didn’t review it.  I suppose I could have reviewed Get Smart instead, which I saw a few weeks ago.  But it didn’t really lend itself to a full review — it’s a C/C- movie, not funny enough for a comedy, not exciting enough as an action movie, but not entirely awful.  Steve Carrell is okay, Anne Hathaway is mousy, The Rock can actually act decently and the plot was entirely too predictable.  It’s a total mindless diversion and nothing more.

And instead of regaling everyone with why Superman Returns is one of the worst movies I’ve ever seen (don’t worry, I will write about it soon enough), I decided to go with something slightly more timely (also, I watched it tonight on TV) and review the original Hellboy on the day the sequel comes out.  I will be doing the same next Friday with a review of Batman Begins on the the day The Dark Knight (sweet) comes out.

The last week got a little busy, and posting went by the wayside.  But I will post later today and the schedule for this week consists of 3 recent foreign films that got a lot of critical acclaim but very few people saw.

Mon – The Wind that Shakes the Barley
Wed – The Proposition
Fri – Downfall

Almost in Love

So, over the last week, I’ve been working on a short film for a contest called Campus Movie Fest, and with the help of a bunch of law school friends, finished a 5 minute short film.  I know all of you desperately want to see it.

I’ve put it below, but you can also find it at:

http://www.ourstage.com/video/channel/66-cmf/WSCGVHVZMSQB-almost-in-love

If you register at http://www.ourstage.com/go/cmf you can “judge” movies — they give you two of the movies and you pick which one is better (choose Judge, then Videos then the CMF channel). If you judge enough eventually you’ll be able to judge ours, whenever it randomly pops up.

So, check it out, and let me know what you think, and forward it to and share it with whoever may be interested.  New blog posts start next Monday.
